My name is Debbie Hearn I am a Western Medical Herbalist, Naturopath, and Deep Tissue Bodywork Therapist, and the owner and operator of The Herbfactory and my website www.perthherbs.com.au.
As a child, I had spent over 3 years living in the country town of Wittenoom, located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. From 1950 until the early 1960s, Wittenoom was Australia's only asbestos mine. My Father worked in the mine. Since then many people have died from asbestos-related diseases. As a result of living in Wittenoom, I was told that I would not live much past the age of 38 years. Orthodox medicine had no treatments to offer for the victims of asbestos, I began studying Traditional Medicine in 1990. I then began a personal mission to find an alternative for the prevention of asbestos cancer and on discovering herbs became extremely passionate about Herbs and Natural Medicine. Since 1992 I have been practicing Deep Tissue Bodywork, later becoming a Naturopath and Western Medical Herbalist in 1994. Currently, I have 1 dead tumor in my lungs and 1 in the bone of my right arm; I believe Herbs have contributed to my survival and health. I designed a personal herbal and nutritional program which I believe has kept me healthy and strong to this day.
